FIFA demotes Nigeria in World Cup Africa seeding
FIFA have altered the seeding for the 2018 Planet Cup Africa group draw in Cairo Friday with Egypt, Guinea and Cameroon promoted and Tunisia, Nigeria and Mali demoted.
Egypt are now amongst the best seeds and Guinea and Cameroon are second seeds ahead of a draw that will split 20 nations into 5 groups with the winners qualifying for the finals in Russia.
Tunisia drop from 1st to second seeds and Nigeria and Mali from second to third seeds for by far the most eagerly anticipated off-field occasion in African football this year.
FIFA haven't explained why they changed the seedings.
Algeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Nigeria are in search of third consecutive Globe Cup appearances.
Group qualifying begins this October, continues in November and there might be 4 rounds among August and November 2017.
Eighteen from the nations in the draw are among the prime 20 in the rankings with Gabon and Libya the exceptions.
